Who can take the Standard First Aid CPR-A course:
Our WSIB Approved Standard First Aid CPR-A course is design for anyone who wants or needs to learn life saving CPR tools.
This course is a requirement for companies or employers who have 6 or more workers / employees per shift.
Therefore, if you do not have this training for your staff it may be time to book. Also, if you do not see a date for training that works for you please reach out to the office at 519-220-1918 or email admin@buildsafe.ca and we can try to accommodate your training needs.
Overview of the Standard First Aid CPR-A course:
We offer a blended format of the course which is part theory online as well as theory and practical in person. The online theory is approximately 6 hours of self-paced learning then followed by approximately 6-7 hours on-site theory and practical training.
The practical training will provide you with the essential skills to care for, protect and support the life of a suddenly ill/injured patient until emergency medical services arrive. Upon completion of the course you will receive your certification which is valid for 3 years.
Topics covered but not limited to:
- Introduction as well as terminology
- Adult CPR
- A.E.D
- Shock
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Severe Bleeding
- Burns
- Heat and Cold Injuries
- Bone and Joint Injuries
In conclusion, the education this training provides to workers and employers will provide them with a better understanding of life saving techniques. As a result, this knowledge will provide for a safer workplace.
