Approved Provider of Working at Heights Course
This course is mandatory as per the requirements of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development for individuals involved in or entering construction sites, working on construction projects, or operating in areas or with machinery at heights.
At BuildSafe, we are an approved provider of the Working at Heights course accredited by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development Chief Prevention Officer.
Overview of the Working At Heights course:
The Working at Heights course educates participants on understanding guardrails, floor covers, and individual responsibilities when working at heights.
The course is divided into two main components: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is followed by a short test, after which participants engage in practical exercises. We provide harnesses and lanyards for practical sessions, though participants are encouraged to bring their own for fitting and certification. Harnesses and lanyards are also available for purchase if needed. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive their Working at Heights certification.
The primary rationale behind this training is clear: falls are the leading cause of fatalities in construction. Enhanced training aims to mitigate these risks and reduce fatalities among construction workers.
2 Main Parts of the course: Fall Prevention & Fall Arrest
Fall Prevention:
- Proper use of ladders
- Correct scaffold erection
- Construction of effective guardrails and floor coverings
- Safety protocols for scissor lifts and travel restraints
- Identification of common fall scenarios and basic preventive measures
Fall Arrest:
Fall Arrest:
- Correct harness usage and fitting
- Proper use of lanyards during work at heights
