Every year, Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) launches targeted compliance initiatives and inspection campaigns in specific sectors. These campaigns are not only about enforcing laws—they aim to raise awareness, educate workplaces, and ultimately protect workers across the province.
For the 2025–2026 cycle, several important campaigns will run from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with a clear goal: to uphold and promote worker rights under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Employment Standards Act (ESA) while increasing employer accountability.
These annual campaigns are designed to:
- Protect workers’ rights under OHSA and ESA
- Promote employer awareness of health and safety responsibilities
- Proactively raise hazard awareness
- Boost compliance with legislation and safety standards
