Elevated Work Platform
Who can take the Elevated Work Platform course?
The Elevated Work Platform course is intended for individuals who need or wish to safely operate boom and scissor lifts. To participate in this training, you must possess a valid Working at Heights, Fall Protection, or Fall Arrest certificate, which is mandatory for operating boom and scissor lifts.
Please bring your certificate to the training session. If your Working at Heights certificate is lost but still valid, contact our office at 519-220-1918 or email admin@buildsafe.ca for assistance. If you do not currently hold a valid certificate or if it has expired, click this link to book our CPO-approved Working at Heights training course.
Overview of the Elevated Work Platform course:
BuildSafe’s comprehensive training program sets the standard for Elevated Work Platform Operator Safety, also known as Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) under the latest CSA Standards. This course covers operation of both boom and scissor lifts.
The course consists of theoretical and practical components.
We begin with theory, followed by a brief test, and then move on to practical training. While we provide harnesses and lanyards for practical sessions, participants are encouraged to bring their own for proper fitting. Harnesses and lanyards are available for purchase if needed. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive their Elevated Work Platform certification. Proper training in boom and scissor lift operation is crucial for your safety and the safety of others.
